Some say that we live and we learn. They are right, but scripture tells us that as we live with and after God we live and we love.
“In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation (atoning sacrifice) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. “ – 1 John 4:9-12
Certainly loving in this way calls for learning, but that learning is about learning by living with Jesus. His love becomes the pattern for the way we love others.
Sometimes we hear that tall order and believe it to be an impossible task. If your car is on “E” this is impossible, but being filled with His love (and His Spirit 1 John 4:13) is the source of our ability to love like Him. It’s how people know us and know Him, in the way we think, talk, and love the world will see who our Father is.
Have you really thought about the depth of His love this morning? Have you thought about what it means to have been crucified with Him? Are you trusting in the power of the resurrection? Do His promises outweigh the lesser loves of this world?
We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
