Good Morning Church Family,
We have a brief time here in comparison to eternity. Breathe that in for a moment.
Did you stop and think about it? Yesterday afternoon, I was blessed to celebrate the life of Edna Stover 98 years old, 59 years a part of our faith family. That’s a long and well lived life, but in comparison to eternity it’s brief.
The reason Paul tells us not to just focus on what is seen is not because it is of zero consequence, but rather because it will not last into eternity. In talking about suffering he writes:
“For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:18
In light of that, what are you talking to your loved ones about? What conversations are you having? How are you allowing the eternal designs of God’s good glory to shape the brief time you have here? This is why we will talk about God’s design for sex, relationships, work, community, and a myriad of other things, because it’s worthwhile to put it into eternal perspective. We often shy away from these things and end up with shallow conversations of little consequence. I know it can be done poorly but it’s worth the risk to have them done right.
Life is short, don’t be afraid (for He is with you), have conversations that matter.
We love you, we are praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
