|Good Morning Church Family, |
Choosing truthfulness in a world marked by sin, fear, fig leaves, and hiding is not easy. You must be brave to be truthful. Deception is much easier since even those who would agree that the truth is what’s right don’t always enjoy hearing the truth.
There are those in our world who will say they champion honesty, being who they are, adhering to the facts. Yet, for much of mainstream culture, it doesn’t appear to be a Christ-like honesty. Paul, when speaking about how the church is meant to run says this in Ephesians 4:15: “speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ.”
Speaking the truth in love with a sincere care to honor God, others, and leading each other toward maturity is the goal. Truth is the most loving thing we can give to each other and it should be given in a loving way (need a definition of love? see 1 Corinthians 13 or 1 John 4).
Remember, we use dishonesty to protect ourselves and/or to project an image to others about what we want to be true. Jesus tells you the fig leaves will not cut it, but His righteousness can (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Choose truthfulness today, it’s costly, it’s worth it.
We love you, we are praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
