Nothing to it but to do it.

March 11, 2019

Good Morning Church Family,

By the time you read this it is likely that you have been up for some time. Have you been walking in the light? Have you walked in truth with God about your needs, hurts, worries, disappointments, and joys? We can talk about coming to Christ, walking in the light, experiencing His love, but at some point we have to start.

The challenge scripture we chose for the week was Psalm 51:6 which speaks of God’s desire and ability to create an integrity of heart in His people. Essentially God wants the outside and the inside to match up. He can and will do that. Are you willing to do what’s necessary to see that happen? God has given us two fundamental relationships to help with this process of spiritual growth.

You and God

Let’s start today by taking some time taking our hearts to God in prayer. 1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.  Get yourself under God’s hand and lay all that is on your mind before God. You may be busy and tempted to say, “I can’t afford to today!” You can’t afford not to pray. Look at the difficulty you face, and then spend the same amount of time looking at the goodness and character of God.

You and Others

Get together with a fellow follower of Christ (or a few) and discuss how God is working in your life. What is He calling you to repent of? In what ways is He calling you to more consistency in your Christian walk? It takes time to get deep with others, but life is going in one direction and we are not promised tomorrow. Today, start with lunch, coffee, or just a visit in the evening and prayer. Let’s be honest with others about our needs, helpful with their burdens, and faithful to the call of Christ to love our neighbor as ourselves.

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!

Peace,

David
