Good Morning Church family,
In the musical Hamilton Alexander Hamilton, has a moment of awareness in his duel with Aaron Burr in which his life flashes before his eyes. My favorite line of this song is, “Rise up, wise up, eyes up!” That’s my encouragement for you this morning.
Yesterday, we celebrated the power of our God as our always present, refuge and strength in 2019 (Psalm 46). Rise up! Lift your eyes to the one who goes before us. Take you, your day, family, work place, and schedule, and lay them before the Lord of Hosts. Choose to trust Him with all your interactions today.
Wise up! Take a moment with the Word. If you don’t have a place to start, go back to Psalm 46 or one of the Gospels. Ask yourself what does this tell me about God’s character? What must I do in response to this word? Is there a principle to apply, a sin to avoid or repent of, a promise to hold on to, or a verse to memorize? Who can I tell about what I see in the Word? Maybe you need to put this weeks challenge verse to memory:
“May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.” 2 Thessalonians 3:5 (NLT)
Eyes up! Today, no matter what you face, live in light of the God of eternity. Choose to live deliberately in His presence. Draw near to His presence with a true heart (Hebrews 10:22). You can do this anywhere and anytime. Take advantage of who you’ve been united to and live in His power today!
We love you, and we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
