People in Progress
Good Morning Church Family,
We began yesterday’s message with the question, Who are you becoming? Have you given anymore thought to that? It does not matter what your season of life is, you are becoming someone. The people, books, media, and life circumstances which make up our day to day are shaping us. If you look back over the past few months or years, who have you been becoming?
As followers of Christ we are forever a people in progress (progress that is not instantaneous). How do I know that? Yesterday we read in John 1:16 “For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.” There is no way we can come into contact with the graces of Christ and not be transformed. Or as Paul explains that as we behold the glory of Jesus, we are being transformed form one degree of glory to the next (2 Corinthians 3:18). The key here is where you’re looking.
Christ’s desire is not for you to accomplish this transformation through your own grit, but through His grace. This is why He came to dwell among us. Over time, as well look to Christ, His character and exceeding graces begin to transform our hearts. Today, choose to invite Him into your place of work, your home, and each situation that comes up through out the day. Meditate on Ephesians 2:8-10, and allow the graces of Christ to overwhelm you today. Be patient, be intentional, and trust the grace of Christ to be sufficient for you.
We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
