How Big is Your God?

Good Morning Church Family,

Yesterday, Pastor Dewey Lowe brought a message about the greatness of God’s plans, purposes, and power in the world. God has not called His church to be sanctified couch potatoes. God is calling us to display His love, through the gifts He has given us, prayerfully proclaiming Jesus in word and deed.

So how are you doing with that? Are you making decisions that will enable you to more clearly express the love of God in word and deed to those around you? What’s holding you back? Are your plans eclipsing the plans of God in the world?

You may be thinking that this is for some “super star” Christians, but the gospel tells us that there are no superstars in the church. In fact, Jesus came to save sinners among whom Paul considered Himself to be the worst (1 Timothy 1:15). You are not a superstar, but the good news is that Jesus is, and He has called you to be His own. All that is His is yours.

When we step back and recognize the greatness of God nothing is impossible. Let’s decide today, to seek God and ask, “What do you desire this faith family to do?” and “How do you intened to use the gifts you have given me to accomplish that?” Sometimes this comes more beautifully mundane than we think. You do not need a boarding pass to serve God with the gifts He has given you. (Although we are happy to help with that if God is calling!)

If you need a place to start look around at the people God has placed in your life and neighborhood. God has placed us in a family to help others grow, know, and experience the power of God. Call someone up, pray for them, encourage them, show them the Jesus you see in Scripture. Don’t think He can use you to do that? Jesus rose from the dead, NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE.

If you haven’t spent time in the word, take a minute to meditate on Hebrews 10:19-25.

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday Morning.

Peace,

David
