MMM 2 25 19 Are you ready?

Dear Church Family,

It’s not exactly spring cleaning time, but next week is communion. Are you ready? Are you ready to worship? Yesterday, we watched as Jesus cleansed the temple in John 2 and then told them that He, the dwelling of God on Earth, was the temple. The space was ready and available, but would others see and receive the restorative grace before them?

I realize that it’s Monday, but why wait until Tuesday to get ready for Wednesday or Saturday for Sunday? When we celebrate communion we are reminded what unites us as a faith family, the cleansing power of Christ, the defeat of sin, and the death of condemnation, because Christ is alive and His Spirit dwells in us we are alive and united in love. We need not fear owning our sin, the ways we have added to the brokenness around us. Let Christ explore the temple of your soul and with the Psalmist ask:

     23 Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my concerns.
     24 See if there is any offensive way in me;
lead me in the everlasting way. -Psalm 139:23-24

Let’s use this week to confess the sin in our lives, walking in the light of God’s holiness and love. His great desire, by whatever means necessary, is to restore us. We ended second service with the son Reckless Love by Cory Asbury, this song takes new meaning when we sing it in light of Christ cleansing the temple. His great concern is a right place in the lives of His people because this is for our best and love is doing what is best no matter the cost. If you get a chance give John 2:13-22 a read and Reckless Love a listen, and then tell me why you would not want such a God to come and restore us.

We love you, we’re praying for you, we hope you have a wonderful Monday Morning!

Peace,

David
