Good morning church family,

The love we are called to in scripture is not easy. Especially the enemy love of Jesus that seeks the good of those who cause hurt.

One thing that presses hard on me this week was the fact that Jesus is asking us to do for others what He has done for us. A love for the other. A love that is compassion in the face of aggression. A love that is foreign to our current culture that it stands out and brings actual healing.

Jesus’ teachings from Matthew 5:38-47 are hard for different reasons for different people. I think one of the best things you can do today is sit with this teaching and ask Jesus to show you why this is so hard for you, and then allow His love to combat that obstacle for you.

The Scriptures are not a trivia book they were alive and active and meant to be practiced. if you say you don’t have time to sit and hear from Him, you are too busy and desperately need something to change. I encourage you to pursue that change this week.

We love you, we are praying for you,  hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
