But Jonah… But God.

Good Morning Church Family,

Yesterday we saw how God will pursue His people by whatever means necessary. Whether it is Nineveh or Jonah, the ends of the earth or the one in the mirror, God is after the heart of His people. What I cannot seem to get over is that the one who can throw the storm on the sea, is the one who washed the disciple’s feet. That is the power of Christ. It’s that type of love which grants us power each day as Paul says,

“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.” – 2 Corinthians 5:14-15

Yet, we are so quick to zone out, board the ship of indifference, and go on our way. Let’s choose self-control this week. Let’s choose saying yes to the tempest of God’s love, waiting for His word to flood, captivate, and control our souls.

What we will often find is that if we are humble and ready to receive, an earthquake, wind, and fire are unnecessary. We will find what Elijah found, “And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire the sound of a low whisper.” (1 Kings 19:12) The still small voice of God consistently present to guide and transform will always be enough.

What are you running to this morning? Who do you truly love this morning? What priorites does God need realign for you? He is able and desires to transform us, let’s live like it.

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!
Peace,
David
