“Abiding Conversation”

Dear Church Family,

Have you thought more about the question yesterday? Is the goal of your life to really understand and receive Jesus? Part of what I have found helpful in pursuit of living in an abiding relationship with Christ is living in conversation with Him.

Today instead of relentlessly worrying about whatever it might be, try laying your burdens at His feet. After all, if the destination He has for you is secure, what situation could He not use for your growth and eternal good? “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31

As you face temptation bring it into conversation with Christ ask that the joy you find in Him be greater than the knock off joys offered to you illegitimately. When something surprisingly good happens thank the Lord for His welcome but unexpected kindnesses.

Choose the Father’s will today. Instead of praise of man choose to praise Him to others. Instead of asking Him for stuff ask Him where He wants you to follow Him. Instead of asking Him to move the obstacle ask Him to teach you what He desires in the moments you face in difficulty. Talk to Him because He cares for you.

We love you, we’re praying for you, and we hope you have a wonderful Monday morning!

Peace,
David
